My textile world
When I was five, fabrics, yarn and thread
became an important part of my life. That was because I convinced one of my
granmothers to teach me how to knit. Later on, my other grandmother taught me
how to crochet. I have conceived and developed this knowledge up until today. Lately I have also developed
my skills in patchwork and quilting. The sources of
inspirations are many, but the person who has influenced me the most is
Kaffe Fassett. Through his books, but also a couple of master classes, I've been
challenged to explore the mysteries of colour.
Click on 'My Design' in the menu at the left, to see items I've designed. In
'Gallery' you find my interpretation of other people's patterns. And If you click on
'Dear
Jane', you will find my version of a quilt, originally made in 1863. Today, women
all over the world gather via Internet to master the techniques required to
create this fabulous quilt.
Enjoy! |
